West won 112-100. Typical all-star game - little defense and a number of bad shots.
Thomas Nugent of North Daviess was the MVP. I thought he was pretty impressive, but got a lot of wide open looks (that he hit), including 3 on the same out of bounds play. I was impressed with Evansville Memorial's Trev Wilgus as well for the West. East gave up way too many easy shots early and got behind in the first half by 20. Fought back to within 7 in the 2nd, but got no closer. Brett Martin (NA) led the East in scoring, but took a lot of shots to get those numbers. Erwin (Salem) started hot scoring the first 5, but cooled. Played pretty well. Beam (Borden) played pretty well too had double digits, but missed some of the first half after getting busted open by an Erwin elbow. Robinson drove the ball well, but really struggled with his outside. I like Blaze Ayers (B-town), but he didn't get enough touches. As for the remainder of the East roster, JTheising (East Central) and Johnson (Orleans) played ok, but Blake Sutton (JCD) and Sean Powell (Lawrenceburg) really struggled. The East team was a lot smaller than the West and it showed.
As for the West, I really thought Nugent and Wilgus were the stars. Oxley (Tecumseh) scored, but took a lot of shots to get there. Knepp struggled from the field more than I expected. West was a little more balanced, moved the ball a litte better, and rebounded. Charlie Gonzales (Wood Memorial) was a load inside for the West.
