Christian Academy's Scott Won't Return:
The rumor mill has been active for nearly a week but today it was confirmed that
David Scott
will not return
next season as Christian Academy's coach, the
New Albany Tribune
reported. Scott's team compiled a 14-7 record during the 2007-08 campaign, and he was the school's third coach in three seasons.

Brett Out at Loogootee:
In the first known Southern Indiana coaching change of the season, Loogooteee boys basketball coach
Steve Brett
resigned Monday at a school board meeting, the
Washington Times-Herald
reports. Under Brett's leadership, the Lions advanced to the state finals three years ago, and he logged a 92-52 record at the school in six seasons. Previous to Loogootee, Brett was the boss at Seymour.

Vincennes JuCo Headed to Hutch:

Everick Sullivan
and his Vincennes University squad are headed to the
National Junior College Athletic Association finals
in Hutchinson, Kan., and will face Salt Lake City College on Tuesday in the tournament’s opening round. The Trailblazers shellacked Globe, NY, last week in the district championship to earn a birth in the final 16. Sullivan and his staff actively recruit the Southern Indiana region, and currently have four players from the Hoosier State on their roster.

Zeller Reaches Scoring Milestone:
North Carolina recruit
Tyler Zeller
became Washington's all-time single season leading scorer this past weekend, passing 1983 Indiana All-Star and former Georgia Tech standout
Craig Neal
on Saturday. Zeller, who scored 70 points and pulled down 36 rebounds combined at the Washington Regional, now has 747 points on the season, two more than Neal scored in the 1982-83 season.

With weather forcing the postponement of five regional sites to Monday and Tuesday, semistate assignments for the Southport and Seymour locations will be announced later this week, the IHSAA said today in a statement.

scored 18 points to lead Evansville Mater Dei past South Knox 61-51 in the second semifinal at Southridge’s Class 2-A Regional. South Knox was paced by

White, Laswell Help Paoli Edge Tri-West:
The senior duo of
Drew White
and
Logan Laswell
came through in a big way, and Paoli squeezed past Tri-West 78-72 in the Class 2-A Southridge Regional at Huntingburg. White racked up 29 points -- including a perfect 12 of 12 from the free throw line -- and Laswell totaled 23.

Ooley’s Shot At 0:06 Lifts Borden: Alex Ooley
connected on a free throw line jumper with 0:06 remaining, and Borden edged Barr-Reeve 42-41 at the North Daviess Class A Regional. Borden was led by
Lee Kirchgessner
and
Chris Beam
who scored 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Trey Hughes
led Barr-Reeve with 18. Borden now awaits the winner of Orleans/Tecumseh, which was postponed until Monday.

Zeller, Washington Eliminate Butcher, Edgewood In Rematch:
North Carolina recruit

poured in a game-high 31 points and pulled down 19 rebounds as Washington slipped past Edgewood 70-63 in the second semifinal of their own Class 3-A regional.
Garrett Butcher
, a Butler signee who was quieted by foul trouble much of the game, scored 10 for Edgewood, which drilled 13 three-pointers in the defeat. The Hatchets will face Evansville Memorial for the championship tonight at 8:00 p.m.
